Elsie Currie - Speech Pathologist
Bachelor of Education (Primary), Deakin University
Masters of Speech Pathology, Griffith University
Elsie is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with Speech Pathology Australia - the national peak body for the speech pathology profession in Australia.
As a former primary school teacher from Melbourne, Elsie relocated to Canberra following completion of her speech pathology degree.
She is experienced in and enjoys working with children with speech, fluency (stuttering), language and literacy difficulties. More recently, she gained further experience in the adult field, working at a local hospital with adults with a range of speech, language and swallowing difficulties.
She is trained and experienced in the following programs:
The Lidcombe Program (for stuttering)
The Nuffield Program (for speech sound disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS))
ReST (for speech sound disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS))
Sounds-Write (for literacy)
Hanen It Takes Two To Talk (for early language/late talkers)
SPEAK OUT! from the Parkinson Voice Project (for Parkinson’s disease)
In her spare time, Elsie enjoys all things pottery and spending time with her (senior) pup, Chester.
